  2. Coming into an environment where it’s your responsibility to perform data analysis on thousands of Discoverer reports can be a very daunting task. Trying to identify who owns the reports, how many reports each business unit owns, or more importantly what dependencies are required by each report would take countless hours of analysis. After searching on the web for a product that would aid in my task, I was advised by users of the Oracle Technical Network Forums to try InfoCaptor.

After installing the trial version of the product and reviewing some of its capabilities, I instantly knew my corporation couldn’t do without this tool. Dealing with RudraSoft LLC in answering technical questions or providing extra information vital to my analysis has been very refreshing. It’s very rare in today’s technology market you receive true professional service. If you are in need of a tool that with delivering fast metadata on the Discoverer reports in your environment while saving countless person hours, InfoCaptor is definitely the product of choice.

  3. My monthly routine is to spend 2-3 days on creating Excel reports and submitting it to my boss. Out of frustration I stumbled across InfoCaptor and approached Nilesh for help in getting a sample dashboard created. Having submitted all the raw data, InfoCaptor team came up with a nice looking dashboard that was much more efficient with the use of parameters. For e.g I used to have seperate metrics for Year, Quarter and for each months. The supplied dashboard had parameters that allowed to switch between year, quarter or month view instantly.
This is saving me a lot of time. The only thing remaining is to feed the dashboard directly from the ODBC source. Right now I just extract the raw data into Excel and let InfoCaptor feed from it but having direct ODBC link will give me real time views.

Thank you very much for a wonderful job and the product.

  4. We have been using InfoCaptor for past 3 months. I cannot reveal my company information but I will talk few things about InfoCaptor. InfoCaptor as a Dashboarding application is very good but it lacks ad-hoc reporting. We are an outsourcing company and needed to win more business from our main client. We needed to impress our clients with some dashboard reports that would tell them how we are performing. Ofcourse our client does their own reporting but we wanted to differentiate from the rest of the vendors.

After intensive sessions with InfoCaptor team we managed to assemble and streamline all the measurable metrics data in a common database. InfoCaptor team offered generous help towards building the dashboards. I am happy to say that we finally had our demo done with our client and they were extremely pleased with the results.

We will be scheduling more demos of our dashboards with our other clients and once again thanks to the InfoCaptor team

  5. It isn’t often you find a product that has the two cardinal virtues: a price that is an order-of-magnitude below the big players in the field, and a development team that really listens and responds to customer feedback and requests. “InfoCaptor is such a product”.

Dashboard design and use has swept through the Fortune 500 companies, but until recently it was too expensive and required too much technical knowledge for mid-size companies to embrace. InfoCaptor has brought the benefits of dashboards to any organization with as few as one trained IT person on staff.

The real strength of InfoCaptor, however, is the dedication of the development team. InfoCaptor staff worked to try and create additions to the current product in order to fit our specific needs. There was no reluctance to help, none of the normal “We’re very busy right now?” excuses; instead there were dozens of emails, remote assistance, and new beta components on virtually a daily basis.

I am a big fan, and look to InfoCaptor with eager anticipation of what features will be added next. The current product does what products costing 10 times as much do.I can’t wait to see what this kind of drive, energy, and obvious love of the project on the part of those developing it, will bring to the table next.

  6. I have been using Excel Dashboards for past 4 days. This has literally shaved 30 hrs per month that I used to spent every month. It was pretty easy to create the dashboards. Was able to generate a presentable PDF in just few hours (under 3 hrs to be precise). My plan of action from now on is to get an updated Excel file and refresh the dashboard, generate the PDf and send it to my Department manager, all done in 10 minutes. For $50, its a no brainer.

  8. The trial was easy to use & build my first dashboard. I did download & follow the .pdf tutorial. Because I’m pulling information from a couple different sources, I haven’t made the decision to purchase. I’ll need to do a little more research but I was extremely impressed with the capabilities. I recently participated in a webinar sponsored by a company whose product was very similar but cost thouSand$ more.

  10. The Drilldown tutorial shows integer filter. The character filter should be shown as well:
    where Country = ‘param’

It would be better to leave the param as blank like:
    where Country = param
    or better still
    where Country = param
    or even better
    where Country

By Bria on Jul 2, 2010

  11. where Country = ‘param\’

By Bria on Jul 2, 2010

  12. where Country = ‘param<Country,Australia>’

  17. Hi

Only just installed after purchasing the Advanced Excel Dashboard and now waiting for the activation key. So far no complaints having successfully installed. It will enable the trust to better forecast 18-week Referrals process particularly around booking of slots.

It will become an Operational Decision Making Tool and assist the business units.
