How hard is to create a decent interactive Dashboard?
To illustrate my point, here is an example tutorial, [just glance through the document from top to bottom and come back to continue this dialog] tutorial from Microsoft website
The tutorial is without any screenshots! The tutorial is then a never ending sequence of instructions on how to get the XML, query, XSL, html, htc files and how to configure them together. Then for colors and formats you need to be aware of the HTML and CSS basics.
This seems to be a tutorial more on ‘How to build a web page using our Dashboard software’ article. This is true for most of the major Dashboard software out there. They need a special server which they name it as ‘BI Server’ and then its all the same ‘Can of worms’ from there onwards. [….Call the DBA, prepare the BOX, get the software, install, oops.. missing some server component… not certified with this license…call support … get patch… damn those useless DBAs… can’t get the BI server up and running… must be the software….]
Is it asking too much of a dashboard software where you
